About unit
The “Taifun” Special-Purpose Unmanned Systems Detachment is a specialized unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, established in 2024 to carry out combat missions using modern unmanned systems. The unit’s primary mission is to provide effective support to National Guard combat units through the active use of strike FPV drones, unmanned aerial systems, and technological solutions on the battlefield.
The unit specializes in aerial reconnaissance, striking enemy personnel, and destroying enemy equipment, logistics, ammunition depots, and other critical targets. The unit’s operators continuously monitor the combat zone, adjust fire support, and provide intelligence support to adjacent units.
“Taifun” brings together service members with combat experience, technical expertise, and a high level of motivation. The unit places special emphasis on training UAV crews, developing new drone tactics, and implementing modern warfare technologies. The unit continuously refines its operator training system and expands the range of applications for unmanned systems in combat conditions.
The unit’s philosophy is based on professionalism, rapid decision-making, technological superiority, and effective coordination among crews. “Taifun” carries out missions where operational support, precision, and the effective use of unmanned systems are required.
