Requirements

  • higher education in journalism, public relations (PR), marketing, media communications, film/TV production, or philology (preferred);

  • 2-3+ years of experience in leadership positions in the media field (editor-in-chief, producer, Head of Media, creative agency team lead, press service manager);

  • experience managing a team of creative specialists (photographers, videographers, designers, copywriters/SMM);

  • portfolio of completed media projects, successful information campaigns, or produced video content;

  • experience working as a military journalist, press officer, or media coordinator in charitable or military projects (preferred);

  • understanding of tactical medicine specifics and the general structure of the Defense Forces (preferred);

  • ability to build the filming process from concept (script, storyboard) to post-production, set clear briefs for the creative team, and monitor their execution;

  • fluent Ukrainian language, ability to write clear, strong texts in various formats (from emotional reports to official statements and press releases);

  • understanding of algorithms on key platforms (Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) and audience engagement tools;

  • English at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher for effective communication and coordination with foreign journalists and film crews (preferred);

  • understanding of the logic and basic experience working in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve) for quality control of videographer’s work;

  • understanding of graphic design and basic experience with visualization tools: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator;

  • confident use of task management tools for coordinating media production and maintaining content plans: Trello, Asana, Notion, or similar;

  • understanding of technical specifications of filming equipment for forming procurement or rental requests;

  • high stress resilience, readiness for an irregular schedule and prompt response to news occasions 24/7;

  • developed empathy, psychological readiness to work with sensitive topics (injuries, treatment, rehabilitation of soldiers);

  • attention to detail and high responsibility;

  • leadership qualities, diplomacy, and ability to find an approach to creative people.

Responsibilities

  • developing and implementing media strategy: forming a unified information policy for the corps’ medical support service, positioning the service’s brand, and creating content plans to cover its activities;

  • coordinating and internally managing the media team: organizing daily interaction between the photographer, videographer, SMM manager, and designer, distributing tasks, monitoring deadlines, and approving the final media product;

  • producing and planning shoots: determining topics, locations, and formats for photo and video shoots (interviews with military medics, reports from evacuations, training, stabilization points, or hospitals) and setting clear technical briefs for the operator and photographer;

  • quality control and approval of visual content: reviewing recorded material, selecting the best shots, approving video editing and graphic design, and final proofreading of text publications before release;

  • leading SMM and managing news occasions: overseeing the service’s official social media pages, monitoring audience reactions, analyzing reach and engagement metrics, and promptly responding to information requests;

  • managing branded product production (merch/print materials): setting tasks for the designer to develop identity, logos, presentations, infographics, patches, or informational booklets for wounded soldiers and partners, as well as coordinating with print shops;

  • liaising with media and press services: coordinating work with external journalists, preparing press releases, organizing media support for foreign or national film crews visiting the service’s units;

  • managing the department’s technical resources: organizing the recording, storage, timely maintenance, and updating of filming, audio, and computer equipment for the media team;

  • creating a systematic material archive: organizing and monitoring a structured database (digital archive) of photo, video, and graphic materials for long-term use;

  • reporting to senior command: regularly informing the head of the corps’ medical support service about media activity, results of information campaigns, coverage of key events, and the overall dynamics of the service’s information resources development.

Terms

  • the opportunity to serve under contract or through mobilization until the end of martial law;
  • the opportunity for active-duty service members to transfer from other units;

  • basic pay ranging from 25,000 to 127,000 UAH, depending on duties and place of service;
