Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, presented awards to service members of the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine.
During the ceremony, General Syrskyi personally awarded the Commander-in-Chief’s distinction “Merit Cross” and presented the insignia of Brigadier General to the commander of the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, Brigadier General Denys “Redis” Prokopenko.










Corps fighters received the honorary badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “Merit Cross”, “Shield of Victory”, “Steel Cross”, “Cross of Bravery”, “Silver Cross”, “Cross of Military Honour”, “Golden Cross”, and “For Conscientious Service”.
“Every day, you demonstrate high effectiveness in eliminating the enemy, and this is truly an example for all. I am proud that service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carry out tasks shoulder to shoulder with you, and we know that we are all brothers-in-arms, all united in one mission – the defense of our state, Ukraine,” the Commander-in-Chief stated.
During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief was briefed by the corps commander and brigade commanders within the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine. The commanders reported on the situation in their areas of responsibility and discussed the units’ equipment and weapons needs to increase combat effectiveness.
