A volunteer is someone ready to take responsibility for the state, their loved ones, and the future

On March 14, we commemorate Ukrainian Volunteer Day, a day of free and strong-spirited people who, at a critical moment, saw something greater than their own well-being and safety.

Since early March 2014, thousands of Ukrainians have risen to defend the Motherland, forming volunteer battalions, among them Azov.

Many of us were participants in the Revolution of Dignity. Most came from civilian life and had no combat experience. We did not know what lay ahead or what price would be paid for Ukraine’s freedom. But we were ready to do everything possible to prevent the enemy from achieving its goal and subjugating us.

Azov was created by volunteers, and the majority of fighters who have joined its ranks over the years remain volunteers. Driven by unwavering motivation, we gained experience and grew through war, becoming a driving force for change and an example for others.

Every day we choose to continue the fight. If we had to return to the moment when each of us decided to stand in the ranks, we would do it again without hesitation.

The First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine congratulates everyone who has made this difficult but right decision.
Glory to Ukraine!
