Special Operations Reconnaissance Company “Teenagers” 20th Operational Brigade “Lubart”
About unit
The “Teenagers” unit was formed within the 5th Battalion of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” as a reconnaissance platoon composed of experienced infantrymen and specialists from the battalion. The unit’s foundation and driving force were young fighters who took up arms in early 2022. At that time, many of them had just turned 18—which is where the unit’s name, “Teenagers,” comes from.
The unit’s fighters fought side by side while serving in the Special Operations Forces, where they participated in battles on the Zaporizhzhia front, the defense of Bakhmut, the crossing of the Dnipro River near the islands, and the Zaporizhzhia counteroffensive. Later, as part of the 5th Azov Battalion, they carried out combat missions in the Serebryansky Forestry, New York, and Toretsk. Today, the unit continues to carry out combat missions as part of the 20th “Lubart” Special Operations Brigade in the Dobropillia sector.
The unit specializes in conducting reconnaissance, supporting infantry, strike-and-search operations, and follow-up reconnaissance of the terrain. The soldiers operate directly in the zone of active combat, ensuring enemy detection, coordinating the actions of adjacent forces, and carrying out special missions under difficult conditions.
The company insignia carries deep symbolism. The unit’s name is located at the top. Below are two crossed torches, symbolizing the continuation of our ancestors’ struggle, while the sword embodies the conscious choice to fight with arms in hand. In the background is the “Idea of the Nation,” crossed by a closed circle—a symbol of the idea’s continuity.
