The Ukrainian infantryman is the most effective guarantor of the state’s security and resilience

May 6 marks Infantry Day in Ukraine. The infantryman is the backbone of the military. He holds the forward line of defense and fights the enemy face-to-face.

Today’s war is high-tech, but the widespread use of drones and other means is not a replacement for infantry — it is a force multiplier for them. The infantryman employs cutting-edge technology and modern combat methods, yet his primary weapons remain courage, motivation, and training.

First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine takes pride in its infantrymen. It is from the infantry that the commanders of our units have traditionally risen. On the infantrymen rests both the corps’ defensive line and Ukraine’s future.
