A special forces fighter must combine excellent physical conditioning with psychological resilience and the ability to stay focused on mission execution under conditions of physical exhaustion.
That standard was set by Azov’s legendary sniper, brother “Khvat.” The fact that his memory is honored through competition proves that this high standard remains the goal of training for active and future fighters of special forces units.

The tournament was organized by the physical training and sports specialists of First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine. 98 representatives of special forces units and specialized educational institutions competed in shooting exercises following a high-intensity physical load.
Among Ukraine’s special units, first place went to representatives of the State Bureau of Investigation, second to the SBU’s Alpha unit, and third to the Special Purpose Center “Omega” of the National Guard of Ukraine. The cadet podium went to representatives of the Kyiv Institute of the National Guard of Ukraine, the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.
As noted by the Head of Physical Training and Sports of First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, brother “Hennessy,” the primary goal of such events is to honor the memory of our warriors and fighters currently held as prisoners of war.
