Requirements

  • practical experience with OSINT (Open Source Intelligence)—preferably 2 years or more, particularly in fields related to security, intelligence, investigative journalism, or conflict analysis;
  • a deep understanding and proven experience in applying key OSINT methodologies listed in the job description (network analysis, geospatial analysis, social media analysis, verification, content analysis, etc.);
  • proficiency in specialized tools and software for collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing OSINT data;
  • experience working with large volumes of diverse information and databases;
  • understanding of information security and confidentiality principles when working with data;
  • an understanding of the specifics of military operations and the context of the Russia-Ukraine war will be a significant advantage;
  • the ability to create visualizations of connections;
  • a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and meticulousness;
  • the ability to work independently, take initiative, and make informed decisions;
  • resilience to stress and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and under time constraints;
  • strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • perseverance, tenacity, and creativity in searching for non-obvious information;
  • high level of motivation, patriotism, and a desire to work to defend Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • systematic collection, search, and aggregation of information from various open sources (OSINT) in accordance with research queries and operational needs;
  • conducting a comprehensive analysis of the collected data, verifying it, and assessing its reliability to identify relevant and important information;
  • identifying patterns, trends, anomalies, threats, and other critical information regarding enemy actions, the operational situation, the state of the information space, etc.;
  • preparing high-quality, structured analytical reports, briefings, presentations, and briefings based on the analysis conducted;
  • visualizing data (graphs, maps, relationship diagrams) to present analysis results clearly and comprehensively;
  • providing timely and accurate analytical support for the operational and strategic decision-making process by command and other units;
  • effective use of specialized tools, software, and platforms for OSINT;
  • active collaboration and effective communication with other members of the research department and related units. Required knowledge and skills (key OSINT methodologies): ​advanced information search techniques: proficiency in search engine operators, searching specific domains and the deep web, reverse image and video searches, and searching web archives;
  • Link Analysis: skills in building and analyzing connections between individuals, organizations, objects, locations, and events based on open-source data;
  • geospatial analysis (GEOINT based on OSINT): methods for verifying the location and time of events (geolocation) using publicly available photos and videos; analysis of terrain and infrastructure using publicly available maps, satellite imagery, and vehicle tracking data;
  • social media analysis (SOCMINT): methods for monitoring, collecting, and analyzing data from various social media platforms; identifying and analyzing user, group, and channel activity;
  • identifying fake accounts and bot networks;
  • and analyzing the spread of information and public sentiment;
  • content analysis (images, video, audio): methods for in-depth analysis of visual and audio materials from open sources to identify details, metadata, and signs of forgery or editing;
  • methods of information verification and fact-checking (OSINT fact-checking): skills in critically evaluating sources, cross-checking data from multiple sources, and using specialized verification tools;
  • timeline analysis: the ability to reconstruct and visualize the chronology of events based on collected open-source data; analysis of information operations (IPSO) and disinformation: the ability to identify, analyze, and assess hostile narratives, propaganda campaigns, and their impact in the open information space;
  • skills in developing and adapting methodologies: the ability to independently develop or modify methodologies for data collection, processing, and analysis to address specific, non-standard research and analytical tasks.

Terms

  • the opportunity to serve under contract or through mobilization until the end of martial law;
