About unit
The battalion’s mission is to establish comprehensive lines of defense. Reconnaissance, establishing and fortifying positions, echeloned defense, trenches, deploying non-explosive engineering obstacles, and mining the territory. The unit performs a wide range of tasks on the front lines: from fortification work, mining, and demining to engaging the enemy with flamethrowers.

Ivan “Pilgrim” Harasymchuk
CaptainIn 2013, he took part in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he joined the Azov Battalion, where he served until the end of 2015. From 2017 to 2020, he was under contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. In 2022, with the start of the full-scale invasion, he returned to the military—as an infantryman, he helped hold the line near Velyka Novosilka and Vremivka. After training in early 2023, he joined an engineering and sapper company. With his participation, it grew into a support battalion, which “Pilgrim” has led since February 2026.
