About unit

The battalion’s mission is to establish comprehensive lines of defense. Reconnaissance, establishing and fortifying positions, echeloned defense, trenches, deploying non-explosive engineering obstacles, and mining the territory. The unit performs a wide range of tasks on the front lines: from fortification work, mining, and demining to engaging the enemy with flamethrowers.

History

The Southern and Zaporizhzhia sectors

2023

The soldiers demonstrated a high level of training and effectiveness in carrying out their assigned tasks during combat operations. During this period, an engineering and sapper company was formed within the unit.

Kreminna sector

August 2023 - August 2024

Formation of an engineering and reconnaissance company; active operations in the Serebryansky Forest. Laying mines, establishing a line of defense, and destroying enemy targets.

Toretsk sector

August 2024

Forming a battalion and carrying out missions to stabilize the front line and reinforce the brigade’s positions.

Dobropil Sector

September 2025 - Present

Defensive operations are being conducted in the Dobropil sector under the command of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov.”

Captain

In 2013, he took part in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he joined the Azov Battalion, where he served until the end of 2015. From 2017 to 2020, he was under contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. In 2022, with the start of the full-scale invasion, he returned to the military—as an infantryman, he helped hold the line near Velyka Novosilka and Vremivka. After training in early 2023, he joined an engineering and sapper company. With his participation, it grew into a support battalion, which “Pilgrim” has led since February 2026.
