The Azov Battalion began forming a communications unit under the command of “Velychar.” Amid the difficult conditions of the war’s early stages, the foundations were laid for a command-and-control system and for ensuring reliable communications between units.

Commander
Arseniy “Senya” Bosenko
CaptainHe is originally from Zaporizhzhia. From 2006 to 2007, he served in the Presidential Regiment. When the full-scale invasion began, he volunteered in Zaporizhzhia and joined Military Unit 3033. Upon learning that a group was being formed to relieve the siege of Mariupol, he joined Azov. For several months, he served as an infantryman in the defense of Velyka Novosilka.
In July 2022, he was called to the communications unit because they needed someone with a technical mindset. He built his career as a signalman literally from scratch—he learned to wire radios, perform installations, and, due to a lack of supplies, made antennas from whatever materials were at hand. During the formation of the brigade in 2023, Senya served as the technical and organizational backbone of the communications unit alongside Tester. From that point on, he effectively served as the deputy head of the communications unit—an engineer. Since December 2025, he has held the position of head of the communications unit.
