mandatory higher education (master’s or specialist degree);

rank of captain (in some cases — major);

full fitness for military service according to the military medical commission (MMC) conclusion;

preference given to candidates with experience serving as commanders of anti-aircraft missile or artillery platoons;

knowledge of anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) employment tactics and air defense organization;

understanding of the structure and rules for correct use of weapons, radar, and communication equipment;

ability to make strategic and tactical decisions under stress, manage combat operations of the unit;

skills in maintaining a working map, reconnaissance logs, reference point diagrams, and combat action logs.

organizing work at the command and observation post (COP), maintaining a working map and target diagram;

directing the fire of anti-aircraft systems;

employing anti-aircraft FPV drones and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to destroy enemy aircraft;

coordinating with anti-aircraft artillery platoons (ZU-23) and other air defense systems.
